Host Families Needed for Class of 2012
Host Families are a fundamental aspect of the program’s purpose and impact. By placing students in homes of residents of the DC metropolitan region, they are exposed to what it means to live in DC, not just to visit. The students gain an improved understanding of US culture and are integrated in to a community. These relationships are greatly appreciated by our students, and have built many lifelong friendships.
In return to offering a home to our students, Host Families become an integral part of our program. They develop a relationship with one of Ireland & Northern Ireland’s brightest young leaders, are welcome participants in our discussions and talks, and join a community of WIP’s host families. Host families are not paid for their participation. Students are between the ages of 18-25. Host families come in all shapes and sizes. They can single or married, and may include young children, older children, or no children at all.
Our Host Families have opened their homes to WIP students for the past decade and are a key part of the WIP experience.
The class of 2012 will arrive on Saturday, June 3rd and leaves on Sunday, August 5th. Interested? Please fill out the form below to learn more about becoming a WIP Host Family. We look forward to hearing from you!
