Management Team
Each year the WIP Class is led by a group of talented young leaders from Ireland and Northern Ireland.
The Management Team for the WIP Class of 2012 are:
Claire Sugden
Claire is a Research and Communications Officer for David McClarty MLA. In 2011, Claire designed and managed Mr McClarty’s successful election campaign which returned him as the only independent MLA in the NI Assembly. Claire is an Alumni of the WIP Class of 2010, when she worked with the Department of Health and Human Services. Claire recently graduated from Queen’s University Belfast with an MA in Irish Politics and has been accepted into the University of Ulster to study for an MSc in Political Lobbying and Public Affairs, beginning September. Claire is a keen artist and is currently learning to paint with oils.
Colm Murphy
Colm is the Deputy President & Campaigns Officer of the Union of Students in Ireland (USI). A graduate of the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) having completed my BA (Hons) in Legal Studies, Colm has been elected to a wide number of roles within the Student movement in Ireland – including Education Officer of the USI and Education Officer of the Student Union at WIT. Colm has also has also worked as a researcher in a large legal practice. His hobbies include politics and reading.
Ronan Lynagh
Ronan is a secondary school teacher from Dublin. Starting out in Greenhills College, Walkinstown, he is now teaching History, Irish, and Civic Social and Political Education in St. Mary’s College, Rathmines. In August of 2010 he joined 9 other young professionals from Ireland and Northern Ireland on the WIP Peace and Conflict Study Program. In the summer of 2011 Ronan was based in Kenya as an Education Coordinator with Suas Educational Development, working with a team of 5 other coordinators and a group of 36 volunteers based in three Kenyan primary schools between Nairobi and Mombasa. A keen footballer, Ronan has been a member of University College Dublin’s Soccer team for the past 5 years and had a short but successful spell with Kenyan side Freretown FC, last Summer.
