For three decades, the Washington Ireland Program (WIP) has played an important role in post-conflict Northern Ireland and Ireland by bringing together leaders from a wide range of communities and backgrounds for outstanding leadership and skills-development programs. WIP’s aim is to support, inspire and develop leaders who are committed to building a future of peace and prosperity for Northern Ireland and Ireland.
To mark this milestone, we are thrilled to invite all our Alums and supporters to a special Gala Ball at Belfast City Hall on Saturday, 5th October 2024. This event will be a celebration of 30 years of impact, where we honour the achievements of over 950 Alums who are leading across the political, business, community, and arts sectors, driving positive change and sustaining peace on the island of Ireland.
We are delighted to be join by WIP’s founder, Carol Wheeler and her husband Tom, and many of our dedicated supporters from the United States. It will be an opportunity to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve shared, reconnect with the WIP community, and to look ahead to the future that we will continue to shape together.
We also want to express our gratitude to all those who have made this journey possible—the Northern Ireland Executive, the Irish Government, our corporate partners, host families, work placement providers, university partners, and countless others. Your unwavering support has been the cornerstone of our impact.
As Northern Ireland and Ireland face big questions for the future, WIP’s Alums stand ready to meet these challenges. We hope you’ll join us to celebrate this anniversary.
