The evening was also an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the host families, work placements, and the entire supporter community. The speaking portion of the evening included remarks from the Director of the Northern Ireland Bureau Andrew Elliott, along with WIP Class of 2023 students Karl Duncan and Eimear Willet.

Karl, who is working at the office of Congressman Mike Quigley this summer, spoke passionately about growing up in Northern Ireland, his personal and educational journey, and the optimism he shares with the Washington Ireland Program for the future of Northern Ireland and Ireland.
